Parades’ dates for 2021: 18 + 29 September and 2 + 3 + 9 October

One of the most beautiful street events in Italy, that attracts thousands of visitors of all ages each year. During the  carnival, Viareggio transforms into a lively and colorful place with day and night parties, and parades with allegorical celebrations.

It is the first time, in almost 150 years, that the Masked Courses of the Viareggio Carnival are scheduled between the end of summer and the beginning of autumn. A calendar revolution caused by the pandemic. A unique and extraordinary edition for the city of Viareggio, commissioned by the Carnival Foundation and by the artists who are working in the hangars of the Citadel to complete their gigantic allegorical constructions.
