DISCOVERING TUSCANY WITH WINE TASTING

DAY 1 – Montecatini Terme, Tuscany

Arrival, accommodation at a good 4 star hotel, dinner at the hotel, evening at leisure.

DAY 2 – Lucca and Montecarlo

After breakfast at the hotel, the group will set off on a tour to Lucca, a medieval city whose city centre is surrounded by walls. In Lucca Piazza Anfiteatro, a walk along via Filungo (the most famous shopping street in Lucca),  the Cathedral  and Piazza Napoleone are a must. Guided tour will last about 2 hours. After a short break for a cappuccino we will continue our tour and will reach Montecarlo for a lunch break. Our last stop for today is Villa Stabbia, we will visit the estate and olive oil production process will be explained and olive oil tasting will follow.

DAY 3 – Chianti Region

Today we will explore the world-wide known and charming wine region – Chianti, with its numerous wineries, medieval castles and villages. Among most popular destinations in Chianti region are: Greve, Radda, Castello di Verrazzano. At the castle a wine tasting with guided tour around the historical cellars, gardens will be organized.

DAY 4 – San Gimignano and Siena

Today’s excursion begins with San Gimignano – often called the medieval Manhattan. It’s situated on a hill, surrounded by the lovely Tuscan countryside. After a walk around the city centre and an ice cream on the Piazza della Cisterna, we will reach a farmhouse nearby for a wine tasting.

After a pleasant afternoon at the vineyard we will continue out tour and visit Siena. Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, Piazza del Campo with its unique the seashell shape, Torre del Mangia are among the most popular landmarks of Siena. A local tour guide will make sure we won’t miss any of them.

Before coming back to Montecatini, we will enjoy a dinner in of a typical restaurant.
